About the workshop

  • Create a better relationship with your dog by building calmer ways of reacting, using the power of your inner mind & imagination

  • Mentally rehearse moments of typical dog drama through the lens of a calm and relaxed owner

  • Utilize the power of your imagination to create new associations within a variety of normal canine situations

  • Unique, small-group guided visualization workshop - simply close your eyes and imagine

  • Recommended for anxious, tense or stressed dog owners

Is your dog a nightmare for you, but an angel for others?

Do others people bring out the best in your dog?

Do you believe your dog would behave better if you could somehow respond better?

Sometimes the way our dog reacts can be as much to do with us, rather than their level of training. Our tension and anxiety impacts ours dogs. Their reactions and behaviours in turn, create more stress for us. It can easily become a vicious circle.

This unique guided visualization workshop aims to improve your relationship with your dog by changing your own unhelpful negative expectations. Mentally rehearsing more positive ways of responding within your inner mind & imagination can be like pressing the anxiety reset button in your mind. Whilst this session doesn’t replace dog training or sessions with a behaviourist, it can bring about a calmer state of mind in you, that may make walks, interactions and training easier. Replace tension and anxiety with calm composure.

Cooler you … calmer canine!

How it Works

  • Zoom workshop

  • Group size (1-15)

  • Session length: approx 2-hrs

After introductions and some brief (human!) brain-related theory, you’ll be gently guided into a calm and relaxed mental state. You'll then be asked to imagine a variety of typical dog related situations, such as recall, calmness in the house, greeting other dogs/people etc, but from the perspective of a state of total calm and relaxation, both for you and your dog. You'll be encouraged to imagine how it feels when it all goes well, in order to begin to reset your associations and expectations. We will conclude with a brief group check-in.

All you will need to do is to listen and imagine along to the instructions given with your eyes closed, in a quiet and undisturbed place where you can safety relax. Listening to the prework guided relaxation audio files beforehand can help prepare your brain to relax, let go and more easily focus inwardly. Think of it as human brain training for dog training.

Please note: this is not a dog training workshop and no dog training techniques are offered. All hypnotic suggestions offered will be around remaining cool, calm and composed, as a hooman.
