What is Presenting for the Petrified?
Presenting for the Petrified is an inner-mind fix for those with a fear or phobia around presenting, public speaking or speaking up in meetings. Using a unique tailored combination of hypnotherapy, regression and parts therapy to tap into your non-conscious, the 1:1 sessions are designed to quickly, easily and effortlessly overcome your inner blocks or fears around public speaking. Small group Zoom workshops, eLearning and 1:1 coaching can then gently build and enhance your speaking skills if required.​
Know that a fear of public speaking is perfectly normal. The brain evolved to avoid social rejection at all costs, so it makes sense that facing a crowd might trigger a strong avoidant threat response. Combine this natural reaction with social anxiety, fear of failure, performance pressure at work, imposter syndrome, early life negative experiences and public speaking fears or phobias are understandable. Public speaking avoidance can last a lifetime however, creating unnecessary stress and debilitation, limiting career development and life opportunities. But it doesn't have to be this way!
There is a gentler, easier and more effective approach to overcoming the fear of public speaking. Other people have learnt to quickly and easily reframe and replace their speaking fears and dread with excitement, positivity and a sense of confidence. And you can too. ​
How will it benefit me?
Presenting for the Petrified gets to the root cause of your issues, namely your non-conscious fears around speaking. It can quickly build your confidence, ready for that upcoming presentation.
Those root causes can be many and varied. Some clients simply didn't present at school and now that secret fear has spiralled. Some have a fear of being looked at or being the centre of attention. Others were given messages at an early age that their voice shouldn't be heard and their thoughts didn't matter. Irrespective of the cause, gentle relaxing hypnosis can target those deep-seated fears, phobias and blocks at a deep level. Negative speaking associations are then upgraded to that of excitement, interest or curiosity around presenting, perhaps even a desire to do it (yes, really!). ​Once your brain is less reactive to the thought of presenting, then some basic presentation skills small-group workshops or coaching can be added, to further build that new confidence.

Fear of public speaking is most people's #1 fear. Releasing that fear and the secrecy and shame that goes along with it can be immensly liberating and energising. If you can conquer your biggest fear, then what else can you achieve in life?​

How is Presenting for the Petrified unique?
Most presentation skills courses teach the techniques of public speaking, but do little to help you to overcome your fears. Whilst a typical 2-day in-person presentation skills course can be effective for some, for those with a real fear of presenting, it can be like jumping off a diving board when you can't yet swim. 'In-at-the-deep-end' deliveries followed by judged group feedback are nerve-wracking for even the most resilient, but if you have a deep-seated fear of presenting, or are neurodiverse, shy or introverted, such evaluation stress is just way too much. Your brain simply cannot learn in the midst of such a fearful situation, let alone take on a multitude of new skills, advice and feedback. Such courses can actually create new trauma, let alone overcome speaking trauma from the past. If you have a real fear of presenting, such a course may be an exhausting and expensive waste of your time, never really getting to the root course.

#1 Hypnotherapy & desensitization to reduce presenting fears: This gentle, relaxing session helps to remove any social anxiety around being the center of attention or in the spotlight and is the recommended first step to overcoming your fear of presenting. Within a state of calm relaxation, desensitization techniques combined with mental rehearsal and positive suggestions effortlessly replace the thought and feelings of fearful presenting with positive associations, relaxation or excitement. All you need do is shut your eyes and visualize along with the session - it honestly couldn't be any easier. #2 Current life regression/inner child: Some experiences in life can leave lasting mental scars, even if relatively minor, such as being laughed at in class by other kids. This session works great as a 2nd session if required and aims to replace and reframe negative childhood or adult experiences around speaking up or presenting. It is a wonderful nourishing session to upgrade those old memories, by removing the ouch or negative association from them. This session is also particularly helpful if your own inner dialogue is somewhat unkind to yourself too. Expect to feel generally more at peace with yourself afterwards and to begin to replace the dread of presenting with a sense of neutrality or indifference.

Coaching prep & guided visualization: So you have an upcoming career defining presentation and you’re totally freaking out? A quick run through and practice of your planned presentation can work wonders at improving your presentation and building your confidence. Get targetted tips and tricks, ideas for improvement and feedback that you can apply straight away. Combine this with some guided visualization and you will experience a much-improved delivery, replacing weeks of sleepless nights and dread, for some minor manageable nerves immediately beforehand. If your presentation really matters, then this preparation session is a must. The session is tailored to your exact needs, but can cover topics such as: structure, openings, closing & calls to action, slide decks, notes, your voice, your body, your hands, your face, your eye contact, using props, handling questions & objections, managing the audience, managing nerves, ad-libbing, thinking on your feet, overcoming the fear of failure and preparing yourself to deliver etc. Within the guided visualization you'll experience what it feels like when your presentation goes great, setting you and your mind up for presentation success!

Parts therapy: This is a great therapy to understand and overcome any inner conflict around presenting that just doesn’t make sense, i.e. you want to progress in your career but a voice in your head is telling you to play small. In this relaxing but fascinating session, we will have a chat with the parts of you that are holding you back and may have been doing so for some time. Once you have a clearer understanding of what’s getting in your own way, we can create a more aligned and integrated way for your inner mind to support you, helping you to more easily attain your public speaking goals. This is usually an interesting and thought-provoking session.

Agnostic therapeutic past life regression: This might sound like an unusual option but please do consider it, as it can actually help overcome fears or phobias, if other options haven't quite hit the mark. It’s agnostic so it can still work even if you believe it is all just fantasy, metaphor or imagination. In this session your inner mind will take you back to a past life experience that is the source of your fear, in an immersive, but safe way. Think VR but just with your eyes shut. We will transform and reframe every negative element of it, in effect upgrading every association into something more positive. If you’re willing to try it and approach it with curiosity, you may discover it’s a deeply meaningful and profound experience, often with a far-reaching impact.

Future visioning: Our brains can remain stubbornly comfortable with our old familiar ways, however much we may dislike them! But if you don’t know what good feels like it can be hard to recognise it and embrace it when it appears in your life. This session aims to overcome that by taking you forward in your inner mind, so you can fully imagine and mentally try on what your future ideal life feels like. Think of it as a sort of mental VR experience of your ideal future life. If you need inspiration as to what you should be doing in life (and your sub-conscious probably already knows!), then this is a great session to bring hope, reassurance & confidence about your future speaking and career opportunities.
