Do you have a mind that’s too busy or too distracted to meditate? Unable to sit still and do nothing? Concerned that you just don’t know how to relax anymore? For many of us, powering on through life 24/7 is our norm. We’re tired, but wired, only really stopping when we get ill. But just as you can relax the body through physical activity, so you can quieten the mind through specific mental activities.  Anyone who has had hypnosis or guided visualizations will have experienced deep relaxation as a natural by-product of the process. This occurs as the nervous system switches over from the state of fight-flight to rest & digest. When the session is designed purely to deepen relaxation, just like this one, then effects may be even greater.

This workshop offers various guided visualization techniques and hypnotic suggestion, together with extended progressive muscle relaxation, specifically to calm down the entire system. Experience what it’s like to gently drift into deeper and deeper levels of blissful healing relaxation, providing a much needed opportunity to restore serenity and stillness, peace and perspective.

How it Works

  • Group size (1-15)

  • Session length: approx 2-hrs

After introductions and some brief discussions about stress and control, you’ll be gently guided to begin the process of winding down, starting with progressive muscle relaxation. This well established and evidence-based technique rapidly removes anxiety by removing tension from the muscles. It’s a fantastic way to quickly slip into deep relaxation. The session then continues with a variety of guided visualizations, suggestions and techniques designed to confuse and tire the mind, leading to deep stillness and mental quiet. All you need to do is close your eyes and listen. Your mind will do the rest ... quite literally. Listening to the prework guided relaxation audio files beforehand can help prepare your mind to relax, let go and more easily focus inwardly. Think of it as brain training. We will conclude with a cup of tea and a brief group check-in at the end.

If you are in any doubt, please check with your healthcare professional first. Should any significant emotions or abreactions occur, this is an indication to seek additional healthcare support

  • Do not participate whilst under the influence of alcohol or any drugs that impair your thinking or mental capacities, or whilst operating machinery or driving. Ensure you are suitably refreshed after the session, before driving or operating machinery

  • Only join from a space where it is safe to relax, undisturbed. For safety reasons you will be asked to keep your camera on. Distractions from pets, people or devices should be minimised

  • Whilst every effort will be made to minimize distractions from other participants, this cannot be guaranteed

  • Technical issues or human frailty may occasionally require a workshop cancellation at short notice. Alternative dates or a full refund will be offered
